Invoke 25

Recently, one of my best friends Ted Bordwell came up with an idea to sow seeds for a grassroots movement. He created a button design representing the 25th amendment and a card containing a link to a site where you can order them to distribute to others.

I decided to take the ball and run with it. Because a "No Kings" rally was coming soon, I ordered 100 buttons and a sign:

In addition, I wrote letters to my members of Congress, including a button with each letter (I had CD mailers on hand already so I used those):

Here is what I wrote:

Dear Senator/Representative etc.,

Hi! I voted for you, but there is one thing you must do to help retain my support.

[Hi! I admit up front that I did not vote for you, but there is one thing you can do to change that.]

End the insanity! Get Trump out! Hasn't enough damage been done already? There is a way to do it, no matter how unlikely it seems: Invoke 25. As you probably know already, the 25th amendment to the Constitution tells how to remove a President for the inability to serve.

It's time for members of all parties to band together and kick Trump out! He has increasingly shown himself to be a mentally incompetent menace that does not belong in office. He doesn't belong in jail so much as in an institution. I'm asking you now to take action for this cause.

Remember: caving into Trump is even worse than supporting him. But if you support invoking the 25th, I promise to vote for you in the next election; otherwise, I may vote for any opponent who does. So please, do the right thing for America and the whole world.

Thank you!

Sincerely, etc.
