Late last year, I was walking along Riordan Road, and noticed that the old Oregano's building was gone. Back in the 1990's it was a German restaurant called Gretel's Black Forest Haus. The Oregano's took it over for a number of years before they moved to their new location on Plaza Way. Creative Spirits was there for a while before they moved downtown. Now it's a parking lot with a historical marker:
I hadn't recalled seeing anything in the local paper about the demolition, but a search online uncovered this article in the Arizona Daily Sun. Also, I found the memo of the City decision. The QR code in the corner of the marker points to this link.
